As a Triage Nurse, you will be the bridge between our patients and the providers, ensuring that every call is handled with the utmost professionalism and clinical accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough phone triage assessments to determine the acuity of patient symptoms.
- Provide accurate medical advice, symptom management strategies, and appropriate referrals to providers.
- Document all patient interactions and clinical findings into the electronic health record (EHR) with precision.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other care team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage high-volume call queues while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
- Assist in the development and implementation of triage protocols and educational materials for patients.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a triage or urgent care setting preferred.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and TNCC preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
- Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems and navigating telehealth platforms.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions quickly.
