Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in specialized units (ED/ICU/Med-Surg) using evidence-based practices
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document electronic health records accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment procedures and discharge plans
- Respond to emergency situations with rapid assessment and intervention
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Mentor new nurses and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required)
- BSN degree (ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered)
- BLS/ACLS certification (required) with PALS preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years relevant clinical experience in acute care
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication abilities and cultural competency
- Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
