Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care across diverse medical-surgical units during weekend rotations
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions with precision and documentation excellence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor vital signs, interpret diagnostic results, and initiate emergency interventions
- Provide patient/family education on disease management and discharge planning
- Maintain strict compliance with JCAHO and NC Board of Nursing standards
- Mentor new staff and participate in weekend-specific quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina RN license (or compact license with NC residency)
- BSN degree required; MSN preferred for leadership track
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience with weekend shift preference
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Demonstrated proficiency in Epic EMR documentation system
- Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking skills
- Flexibility to rotate across units based on patient acuity needs
- Spanish fluency a significant plus for diverse patient population
