Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough physical assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans to address the unique needs of every patient.
- Medication Management: Accurately administer medications and treatments while strictly adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborative Care: Communicate effectively with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and high-quality care.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and timely medical records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to critical situations and medical emergencies within the unit.
- Health Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, discharge instructions, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
