Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Process and transport specimens to laboratories while maintaining chain of custody documentation
- Conduct patient intake and preliminary screening via secure telehealth platforms
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems remotely with HIPAA-compliant practices
- Collaborate with physicians and lab teams through virtual case conferences
- Implement infection control procedures in compliance with OSHA and CLIA standards
- Train patients on at-home collection procedures when applicable
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician (CPT1) certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical phlebotomy experience with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in telehealth software and EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Exceptional communication skills for virtual patient interactions
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling protocols
- COVID-19 vaccination required (with medical/religious accommodation options)
