Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory facilities while maintaining chain of custody
- Verify patient identities and prepare samples for testing per HIPAA protocols
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment in optimal working condition
- Document collection activities accurately in electronic health records
- Provide exceptional patient education during specimen collection procedures
- Collaborate with lab teams to ensure timely test result delivery
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Texas Phlebotomy Technician license or eligible for immediate registration
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA compliance standards
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with remote oversight capabilities
- Valid CPR certification
