Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and wound exposure
- Perform remote sterilization monitoring and equipment quality checks
- Maintain electronic health records documentation via secure remote portals
- Collaborate with surgical teams through telehealth coordination platforms
- Manage inventory and supply chain for sterile processing departments
- Participate in virtual continuing education and skill development
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- 2+ years of operating room experience with major surgical cases
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms and remote documentation systems
- Strong understanding of sterile processing protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to work independently while maintaining remote team communication
- Valid Pennsylvania surgical technologist license
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
