Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before services rendered
- Investigate and resolve claim denials/rejections through appeals and follow-ups
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry coding standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
- Generate monthly reports on claim status and denial trends
- Utilize Epic EMR and NextGen billing systems daily
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in physician practice or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Proficient with medical billing software (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Strong analytical skills for claim resolution and denial management
- Exceptional communication skills for insurance negotiations
- Ability to work independently in remote environment
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
