Responsibilities
- Accurately code and bill complex medical procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Manage insurance claim submissions, follow-ups, and appeals for major carriers
- Resolve billing discrepancies through direct communication with providers and insurance companies
- Analyze denial patterns to implement corrective actions and reduce claim rejection rates
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry billing standards
- Train junior billing staff on best practices and system utilization
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership review
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience in multi-specialty practice
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations
- Proficiency in Epic or EHR systems with strong analytical abilities
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with 95%+ clean claim rate
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Experience with RCM analytics and denial management software
