Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Manage denial resolution with 95%+ first-pass rate
- Conduct thorough insurance verification and pre-authorizations
- Reconcile accounts receivable daily and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and billing documentation
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge accuracy
- Analyze billing trends to identify process improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with ICD-10/CPT coding
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with error rates <2%
- Experience with denial management and appeals processes
- Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
