Responsibilities
- Perform accurate medical billing and coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) for patients and insurance payers.
- Review and analyze claims for denials, rejections, and issues; implement corrective actions to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Manage the revenue cycle process, from claim submission to payment posting.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Utilize EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) to maintain accurate patient records and financial data.
- Conduct regular audits of billing files to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Stark Law).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and EHR systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
