Responsibilities
- Manage complex medical billing cycles for multi-specialty practices using Epic and NextGen systems
- Optimize claim submission processes with 95%+ first-pass acceptance rate
- Conduct rigorous audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Lead revenue cycle improvement initiatives through data analytics and process refinement
- Mentor junior billing specialists and develop departmental best practices
- Resolve complex denials and underpayments through strategic payer negotiations
- Collaborate with coding teams to ensure accurate documentation and charge capture
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience with 3+ years in leadership/mentorship roles
- Advanced proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) required
- Proven track record of reducing A/R days by 20%+ in high-volume settings
- Experience with RCM analytics tools (e.g., QSI, Waystar)
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to resolve complex claim discrepancies
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
