Responsibilities
- Accurately compound and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and automated dispensing systems
- Process insurance claims and third-party billing efficiently
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records
- Train junior technicians on sterile compounding protocols
- Collaborate with clinical team on medication therapy management
Qualifications
- NY State Pharmacy Technician license (required)
- ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician certification
- Minimum 3 years hospital/pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environment
