Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmacy inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and prescription refill processes
- Maintain precise patient records and prescription documentation per HIPAA standards
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software efficiently
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures following USP 797 guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription discrepancies
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Rx30)
- Strong knowledge of CA Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Excellent attention to detail with error-free dispensing record
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
