Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Train junior pharmacy technicians on procedures and best practices
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 3 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of third-party insurance processing
