Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Operate automated analyzers and laboratory equipment with proficiency
- Document patient information and test results accurately in electronic health records
- Train junior phlebotomy staff on best practices and new technologies
- Maintain sterile work environment and adhere to safety protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and lab supervisors for quality assurance initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTCB or ASCP)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification and ability to maintain throughout employment
- Proven track record in high-volume laboratory settings
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for patient communication
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems and specimen processing software
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Associates degree in Medical Technology preferred
