Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process specimens using advanced laboratory equipment and maintain strict chain of custody protocols
- Train junior phlebotomists on new techniques and HIPAA compliance procedures
- Conduct quality control audits and troubleshoot collection issues proactively
- Collaborate with physicians and lab teams to optimize diagnostic workflows
- Maintain detailed patient records using our proprietary EMR system
- Implement infection control measures exceeding OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience in a high-volume clinical setting
- Certification from ASCP, NHA, or equivalent recognized body
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-vein collections
- Advanced knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Experience with LIS systems like Epic or Cerner
- Ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration standards
- Valid California Phlebotomy Technician certification
