Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Coordinate with ER physicians and specialists for critical case prioritization
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with real-time documentation
- Provide telephone triage for 24/7 telehealth services
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for triage accuracy metrics
- Mentor junior nursing staff on emergency triage procedures
- Collaborate with disaster response team during mass casualty incidents
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Hawaii with 5+ years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- Proficiency in Epic EMR and telehealth platforms
- Experience with ESI level 5 triage protocols
- Strong decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments
- Certification in Telephone Triage (CTEC) preferred
- Spanish fluency highly desirable
