Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize patient acuity using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Provide critical telephone triage services for 40+ patients daily
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate patient disposition
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Train junior triage staff on department protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (or compact state license)
- 5+ years emergency department experience
- TASCC or ENPC certification
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Experience with Epic EHR systems
