Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Change linens and maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition or behavior to nursing staff immediately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required, valid in the state of New Mexico.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- CPR certification is highly desirable.
