Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including walking, transferring, and positioning, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Document patient care activities, including changes in patient condition and the administration of medications as directed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment to prevent infection and promote patient dignity.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in North Carolina required.
- Must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed throughout the shift.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
