Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring all instruments, sutures, and equipment are sterilized and ready.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies efficiently.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Monitor and account for all sponge, needle, and instrument counts to ensure patient safety.
- Transcribe physician orders and prepare patient charts and operative notes.
- Position patients safely on the operating table and drape them appropriately.
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient care as directed by the nurse or surgeon.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST) required.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent surgical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
