Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and wound closure
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including endoscopic and robotic systems
- Manage inventory and sterilization of all surgical instruments
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- 2+ years of scrub experience in general surgery specialties
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols and OSHA standards
- Ability to operate complex surgical equipment with minimal training
- Strong communication skills for high-pressure OR environments
- Flexibility to cover rotating shifts including weekends
