Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting sterile fields and arranging instruments/equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after operations
- Transport patients and specimens between departments
- Scrub, gown, and glove for surgical procedures efficiently
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of OR experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to adapt to emergency procedures and shifting schedules
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Current BLS/CPR certification
