Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterility
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Document procedures and equipment usage accurately
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to optimize surgical workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential
- 1+ years of operating room experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instruments
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification
- Texas Surgical Tech license (or willingness to obtain)
