Responsibilities
- Prepare Operating Rooms: Set up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sponges efficiently.
- Sterility Maintenance: Ensure the operating room environment remains sterile to prevent infection.
- Instrument Counts: Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after surgeries.
- Patient Transport: Safely transport patients to and from the operating suite.
- Vital Monitoring: Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient records and surgical details.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) credential required.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience: 1-3 years of surgical experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to work under pressure.
