Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments/equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and wound exposure
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and documentation
- Manage surgical counts and inventory systems
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for coordinated care
- Train junior staff on OR protocols and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of scrub tech experience in general surgery
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to remain calm during emergency procedures
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
