Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgeries by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and track all surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them for surgery
- Assist in cleaning and sterilizing equipment post-procedure
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical inventory and procedures
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and precision in instrument handling
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
