Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to operating rooms and monitor vital signs
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique compliance
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Must complete paid training program (8-12 weeks)
- BLS/CPR certification (provided during training)
