Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Maintain strict sterile techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patient vital signs and alert the surgical team to any changes.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and recovery areas.
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper documentation.
- Dispose of contaminated supplies in accordance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification of Surgical Technician (CST) from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift patients or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a high-paced team environment.
