Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory levels and restock surgical supplies
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them for procedures
- Document surgical activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of recent operating room experience preferred
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program
- BLS certification (must maintain current)
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization methods
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover various surgical specialties
