Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and inventory
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in a Level 1 trauma center
- Expertise in sterile processing and instrumentation setup
- BLS certification and current Pennsylvania state license
- Knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Exceptional attention to detail and crisis management skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 40+ pounds
