Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
- Handle and sterilize medical equipment following strict infection control protocols
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, reordering as needed
- Document procedural details accurately in patient records
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
- Provide post-procedure cleanup and equipment maintenance
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
- Graduation from accredited surgical technology program
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
