Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle biological specimens and surgical materials according to protocol
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and hospital safety regulations
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams to optimize surgical workflows
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
