Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them correctly
- Document procedures and maintain accurate surgical records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless care coordination
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in general surgery
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover various surgical specialties (orthopedic, neuro, etc.)
