Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, ensuring all instruments are sterile and ready for procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sutures efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor patient vital signs and maintain sterile field protocols throughout surgical procedures.
- Handle patient positioning, draping, and safety checks prior to incision.
- Assist in the collection and transport of tissue specimens for pathology analysis.
- Document surgical procedures and inventory usage accurately in electronic health records.
- Collaborate effectively with the nursing and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, instruments, and aseptic technique.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
