Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms
- Operate surgical equipment including cameras, lights, and monitors
- Document procedure details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a Level 1 trauma center
- Expertise in sterile processing and instrument sterilization
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Current BLS certification
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent
