Responsibilities
- Prepare the Operating Room: Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures to ensure a sterile environment.
- Assist Surgeons: Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during operations, anticipating their needs.
- Instrument Management: Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to maintain patient safety.
- Patient Care: Transport patients to the operating suite, position them safely, and monitor their vitals as needed.
- Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain strict sterile techniques and clean the surgical suite after procedures.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient information and procedure details in medical records.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential is mandatory.
- Licensure: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
