Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures, anticipating instrument needs and ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for use.
- Maintain a sterile environment by strictly adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols.
- Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after surgeries.
- Transport patients safely to and from the operating suite, assisting with positioning and prepping.
- Document surgical procedures and patient information accurately in medical records.
- Ensure the operating room is cleaned and organized between procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical anatomy, procedures, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
