Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients and position them correctly for procedures
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments
- Document procedures accurately and maintain inventory records
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to ensure seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary - training provided
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required
