Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials, and maintaining sterile conditions.
- Monitor and prepare patients for surgery, including sterilization and marking surgical sites.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff and surgeons to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
