Job Overview:
In this role, you will play a critical part in the surgical team, ensuring the operating room is prepared, sterile, and organized. You will assist surgeons during procedures and provide compassionate care to patients before and after surgery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterilized and available.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes in condition during procedures.
- Handle and dispose of specimens according to strict safety protocols.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all hospital and infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
