Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with all necessary instruments, sutures, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate documentation before and after surgery.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the surgical team.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite with care and professionalism.
- Dispose of contaminated supplies and maintain a clean, organized surgical environment.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA).
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, sterilization techniques, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
