Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Handle sterile processing and inventory management of surgical supplies
- Transport patients and position them for optimal surgical access
- Apply sterile draping techniques and patient preparation protocols
- Count and track surgical instruments/sponges before/after procedures
- Assist with emergency response during surgical complications
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Proficiency in sterile processing and aseptic technique
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Tennessee state surgical tech license (or eligible)
