Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and supplies before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic technique throughout procedures
- Count and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after operations
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and robotic systems
- Prepare and sterilize reusable instruments according to hospital protocols
- Document procedural details and equipment usage in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Proficiency in sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment maintenance
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with surgical teams
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
