Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring sterility and equipment functionality
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and sterilize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment per hospital protocols
- Transport patients to and from surgical suites with safety and dignity
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and assist with equipment maintenance
Qualifications
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
