Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and specialized equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and maintaining sterility
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies while maintaining cost efficiency
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them for procedures
- Document surgical cases accurately and maintain electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize surgical workflow
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience in Level I trauma center
- Expertise in sterile processing and aseptic technique protocols
- Advanced knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Strong communication skills for high-pressure surgical environments
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
