Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure to prevent infection.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing incision sites.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team.
- Position patients safely and ensure proper draping techniques are used.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
