Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis with proper documentation
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies to ensure seamless surgical operations
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff and surgeons to optimize surgical workflow
- Maintain accurate patient records and equipment maintenance logs
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 1+ years of recent surgical tech experience in a hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and on-call
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced surgical environments
