Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment meets sterilization standards
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment maintenance protocols
- Transport patients and specimens with precision and care
- Document procedural activities and equipment usage accurately
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case flow
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in general surgery
- Expertise in sterile processing and instrumentation handling
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy protocols
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings/weekends
- CPR certification and BLS certification required
- Exceptional attention to detail and crisis management skills
